I've embraced the examined life after much suffering and non-acceptance of my own and others' views. The past several years of self-reflection have enabled me to look more fully and unflinchingly at myself. While not a cure for suffering, it does help one to come to terms with many difficult aspects of trauma, past hurts, and the current state of affairs in the world at large. Thank you.

The video underscores very clearly that the examined life truly means a life lived well is one with an open and inquiring mind. Perhaps more importantly, his statement stresses that we all are chock full of unexamined biases, opinions and conditioned belief systems.

As I was reading some annoying comments, all I could think was "You should be more worried about doing the right thing than others think." Hahaha, back to the lecture...

Thanks for posting this video it's informative clear and concise. Many self help practitioners are teaching the importance to "Know Thyself" although they refer to a deeper aspect of onself whether spiritual physical emotional or mental. Socrates' An unexamined life can
help offer deeper insight into our own lives while helping us gain deeper insight into why some of the people in our own society do the things they do. This video has helped me in my journey "To Know Thyself". Keep em coming

So the message is to examine the life which you and others are living and why you and they live it, so that instead of simply 'living' a life that is unexamined, you live the life you do in a fully conscious manner, which may lead you to question why you and others live the way you/they do.

fantastic video! Such a vital insight for contemporary polarizing politics. Its not enough to state that you feel strongly, but why you feel strongly: then try to understand those who disagree and try to see why they feel strongly. Dogmatism is the unquestioned stance without realizing that the opposition might have a decent point.

Thank you, this has come at a time when I feel the need to examine my own life (I'm 55, so maybe a late bloomer!)

I couldn't enjoy this video as much as the one about the narrative of ones life. It seems, that this video doesn't make me think much.

Interesting video but I am curious as to how you came to the conclusion that Nikola Tesla and the other notable figures you mention lived unexamined lives...

How can it be known if the people who were influential such as nikola Tesla etc never examined there own lives???

My mind and ears shut off after hearing Tesla didn’t examine himself. If it were true I would expect a reason. Seems like a careless statement otherwise.

The cities to which he might have fled are Corinth and Megara, not "Negara."

Excellent content; however the speaking speed can’t be adjusted to a be bit slower. It’s kinda hard to follow.

Topic is very good but style of video is not so impressive. It should be more gentle and less speedy.

Great information, however very fast and indifferent tone and robotic diction. How can anyone's brain digest this at the speed it is produced? Thank you!
