I am a glyptographer/jeweler by trade.
The difficulty of cutting the matching garnets, with the processes which I believe were available at time, is just staggering.
The granulated gold work is equally astounding. This would be award winning work, even today.
The conservationists work is very noteworthy, and the results speak for themselves.
A true treasure in so many ways.
