There is one other thing that happened all the way back in PoF after Kormir left. Beyond the strong hints that Lyssa was of two minds about Balthazar imprisonment and of course the mirror left behind.

The Sanctum started to revert back to its darker nature when Kormir left and demons started to take over.

A few other things as well.

The Eye of Janthir has been spying on us and was there when we killed Eparch. Even though we thought it went missing after season 3. Supposedly Mubon thought the eye was seeking out more Mursaat (probably in the mista)

I think you touched up that the Mursaat used to live in inner Nayos.

Of course we found out that someone went back to the foundry of failed creations where the titans were made and found the area re-lit. The wizards court thought they had wiped out the remaining titans long ago.

YOO! You got me sold on this! It all connects *to well* so it can't be a coincidence. Also, the Titans we've seen so far are also spiders technically except they miss 2 limbs and their bodys are shapes a bit different so they walk on 4 instead of all of them. So my theory is that we're getting a _"hidden human god_ story as JW-conclusion. My bet would be on a combination of Arachnia and Menzis being behind all of this.

Honestly impressive take, I was not aware of the old GW1 lore!

Commenting to boost the video a bit for the algorithm. There are very nice theories in this video and it deserve to be seen by more people.

Personally i think Menzies is a more plausible route for the next anatagonist since he's already in the lore and has already it's own motives to take revenge on Tyria (after all his allies Abadon/Dhuum/Balthazar were defeated by us). But i like how you tried to tie the various spider hints we got with Arachnia.

I have a deep love/hate relationship with videos like these. You came up with insanely good ideas that tie a lot of stuff together and make it sound really interesting; but it's never like that in-game.
Still. Thank you for the video. It was greatly entertaining.

Although our thoughts do lean towards human gods, I personally think the Titans are on their own, and their attempts and struggles to make use of the Bloodstone remains (and specifically the Keystone) helps them power the Mist Tides, and thanks to this anomaly they could venture out to Janthir.
The Mist Tides are a key in this too, and its tragic outcome is the "Mistburn".
Neither Greer, Decima or Ura were ever boasting about how powerful they are thanks some other Gods, instead they placed their faith in themselves and their power, their pain, their anger.
Godspawn could refer to the remains of the Torment magic which lingers after Abaddon's demise, so they may as well be refering to him. The Titans could be implying they have divine power, are superior to others, or have a godlike destiny.
I genuinely doubt other Gods are involved and they support Titans in some way or form.

Just like the Kryptis, the Titans are on their own, lonely in their realm, seeing how brightly Tyria shines thanks to Aurene, and they see hope for themselves. While Eparch was blinded by his own greed, he didn't notice Aurene's light, the Titans chose to venture out, and we showed hostility towards them, without ever trying to understand why they wanted to explore Tyria.

I do like your theory, but the reason why these animals weren't mistburned is because they were in hiding. Spiders like to hide in the corners, in shadows, so they aren't directly affected by the dangers of the Mistburn.

Mistburn seems to affect animals, though and it hasn't really affected anyone around us - we were fighting Greer and Decima during the Mist Tides' storm, and yet we were never affected by it by getting Mistburned. The nature around us was.
Until... we ventured inside Bava Nisos and we suddenly saw that one of the Kodans were Mistburned for some reason, and it happens at the end of the central mini-meta.
Has the 4th Titan gathered enough Bloodstone magic that allowed him to make the Mist Tides much stronger? Or Is this Mistburned Kodan an unfortunate case?

And about the barrier blocking our way to the city which turned out to be very powerful, if you read the journal of Atticus more carefully, he says that the Gate Otho brought was extremely powerful, and was releasing very strong magics that affected Mursaat's children - the Gildless, poisoning them and killing them all.

I'd not be surprised if the barrier blocking us from entering is a very complex combination of various magics of the Mists that someone is actually trying to stop.

While Ura, Greer and Decima did venture out, and tried to gather the bloodstones' magic to feed themselves, the mysterious 4th Titan seemed to never show hostility - not towards Mabon, not towards anyone, as if this 4th Titan understood the dangers of the Mist Tides and is actively trying to block it, channeling the chaotic magics which keep the island intact, not allowing the Mist Tides to spread anywhere.

Possibly Mabon and this 4th Titan reached an agreement, and while this 4th Titan kept Bava Nisos safe, Mabon put a mesmer enchantment around the island that kept it hidden. Ura, Decima and Greer could then oppose this restraint and they ventured out, and ultimately died because their cores were destroyed.

Such a cool theory! I'd love to see both Arachnia and Menzies (maybe the two allied?) explored more in the story, but I'm interested to see whether they'd actually go there (since it seems very much like another world-ending threat).

IIRC, before we got to see Eparch in Nayos, he was continuously described as spider-like, which feels like didn't get much of a pay-off in the end. A spider god would certainly be a chance for ANet to redeem themselves.

New GW2 News: The last part of the expasion will be delayed by 6 months. Reason: The story needs to be rewritten since the devs watched a youtube video

I love the spiders would be a good way for them to recycle the spider mount animations they used to have or also give us the spider mount as a mastery in the last chapter.

Interesting! I really want to finally know why the titans were so set on the mursaat. Abbadon being influenced by Anarchnia would be a cool plot, I just hope to find out some of these secrets he was the god of, unless he was actually just the god of poorly kept secrets.
On a side note, I have always thought the Dreadspawn Maw was a reference to the movie "teeth" lol.

Very interesting Theory, I was hoping to see a reference to Lysa as we still don't know why Balth didn't curse her name. That being said this is a much more interesting theory.

I knew where you were going the exact moment you said "spiders". SPIDERS!! For the love of God, how did I miss the fact they are the only ones not mistburned??? Love the attention you put into these details, and love your theorycrafting in general.
If you are right it would seem that anet is expanding on the most requested lore things, even from GW1 (Wizard Tower, Mursaat, Gods, Arachnia, etc), and that is exciting!
I like very much how in latest expansion there's plenty of lore to go thought, so my only hope is for the story delivery to get on par...and to see some more thing left open ended: is it me or it feels they are tiding up the board from all previous loose ends? 🤔 maybe I just missed things on the commander journey...

This feels a moment like the one you had about the beacon of ages, I'm onboard, LET'S GOOOO!!
