DeWalt Stealthsonic Wet Dry Vacuum Unboxing, Assembly, & Review

This Steve's Garage video is something a little different - a product review! I purchased a DeWalt Wet Dry Vacuum, model DXV12P-QT. This vacuum uses DeWalt Stealthsonic technology, and DeWalt claims it's 50% quieter than a standard shop vac.

I start this video by unboxing and assembling the shop vac. Then I do some quick vacuuming, and finally test it against my older Ridgid Shop Vac, model WD12701.

This DeWalt Wet Dry Vacuum is the 12 gallon, 5.5hp model, but you can get various sized models with the Stealth Sonic technology. Besides the quiet technology advertised by DeWalt, the other big change over many other shop vacs is the bag hanging off the side for attachment storage. It's definitely a love it or hate it item, let me know what your feelings are about it. How mine is setup (left to right): big floor brush on its side, crevice tool, dusting brush sitting on top to avoid ruining the bristles, wand #1, wand #2 with the small floor head attached

Man, I just bought the new version of the RIDGID last week. I haven't unboxed it yet, tho. Worth returning for the noise reduction? I appreciated the RIDGID's inclusion of a bunch of car attachments. Videos are lookin crisp, dude.

I got mine yesterday and I’m happy it picks up just about anything. It’s quieter than regular vacuums, but it does not have the option to blow leaves so if you’re looking for one to blow leaves, this is not the one to buy.

Just bought a DeWalt DXV10P vac. It came with black plastic cup that was loose inside the filter cage, with a label stamp "A" on the bottom. I don't see it shown in the parts diagram, and can't figure out what it's for. Any ideas?

The Dewaly's tone was lower and much more pleasing than the high pitched Ridgid vacuum.

Hi. Do you know, if this noise is ok or not? I was doing brakes and by rotating wheel hub noticed that weird noise. I can literally hear sound (which you can hear as well, especually at 0:10) similar to like a lot of metalic balls playing inside. I susprect that it shouldn't be like that. But I don't know, if my assumtion is correct or not
