Instead of stabbing a bottle cap, you could just try slicing a piece of paper, just let the knife cut though, don't force it.

I wouldn't use a Arkansas on a M390 equivalent which CTS 204P is, used S35VN on my Arkansas and Im never gonna do it again the stone has a notable recurve and I didn't seem to get anywhere....

The thing is CPM S35VN is made to be tougher and easier to machine, polish and sharpen then S30V, now CTS-204P/M390 is just above both in terms of sharpening level.

Get a cheap ass diamond stone, you dont wanna ruin your
