Medicare underwriting is a “no go.” The way they do that is to say in the policy contract that you are responsible for paying out of pocket for anything related to a preexisting condition that you had 6 months before your enrollment in a supplemental plan begins AND subject to any additional condition that develop for 6 months AFTER your new supplemental plan kicks in. Basically you’re going to be paying out of pocket for whatever your supplemental plan would have paid — basically your new supplemental plan ain’t gonna pay nothing. You are going to pay it all.

In New York or Connecticut— can you enroll in a Medicare supplement plan and be TRULY set free from any “preexisting conditions?” I was on an “Advantage” plan (unwittingly) for just over a year and found out I cannot EVER AGAIN get into a Supplement plan in California without being subjected to such “medical underwriting” as I described it in the previous paragraph. But can I get out of that mess by moving to NY or CT??? What if I moved back to California? Do they put me back on the “medical underwriting” thing?
