Thanks so much for this valuable information. Question? If I have a pedal that has one mono out and one stereo out, I can plug one cable to one amp using the mono out into one amp and plug the cable from the stereo out to a separate amp...is this correct? Or will I need a y cable to split two cables from stereo out to two separate amps. And finally, will I need a trs cable, even though one side would be from the mono output?

Hi, maybe a dumb question BUT, if I plugged a quarter inch TS jack into a TRS female to male XLR adapter would it still work and record mono in an audio recorder that the XLR is plugged into? Thanks for answering.

If you use TRS cable for foot switching, does it have to be TRS on both sides, or just one side?

Wow - going to dig out my Switch-3 bought for controlling my old TC Nova and see if it works with the RC-500! It never worked properly with the Nova but assumed it was the Nova as it was on it’s last legs. Should’ve checked what lead I was using, doh! Thanks! I’ve found your channel as just got into looping after 15 years of procrastinating about it ;-) I watched the intro-verse-chorus-bridge vid earlier - genius!! Cheers :-)

I have a Tascam Portacapture X8 I use it to record my ukulele, for this I use a TS cable which works fine, but I bought some higher quality TRS cables, but with these new cables I have no signal on the recorder, does anyone know why?. Thanks

You’re misusing some of the terms defining T, R, and S.
Those stand for Tip, Ring, and Sleeve yet you refer to tip and sleeve as different components. The insulating bands between the segments are not sleeves. At one point, you referred to multiple tips.
