Lightning Talk: Automated Network Provisioning at Facebook

Abstract
At Facebook we try to automate as much of the boring process as possible. One of these processes is the provisioning, rebuilding, and decomming all the devices needed for a network. We'll discuss the challenges and requirements for a network provisioning system. We'll talk about the history of provisioning of network devices at Facebook and how we solved the problem 10 years ago and why that system ultimately wouldn't continue to scale for us. Finally we'll discuss the system we built to replace it, how it solves the issues and scaling we had with the old system, and how it will fit our future requirements as our network grows.
