this game actually has potential. movement, combat and some animations are a bit odd but the abilities, areas, creatures and story is what gets you very interested into the game.

I didn't understand one part at the end. You "gear up" by leveling up in talismans? Or will there also be visual gear improvements without invoking the real money feature? I'd really appreciate a detailed reply to this question ^^

he said it in the review, their are items you can buy with real cash to get bonuses, they have stacked 3 methods of payment onto one game, one will have to go if they want to survive.

Here's the thing that gets me. A lot of the hype of this game is focused around the fact that there are no levels. Everyone's tired of the grind and they want something new, not just another Everquest/WoW clone. But there IS a leveling system. You gain experience, and once you hit a certain level of experience you receive points that you can spend on abilities. While Secret World doesn't put a number on your character to indicate experience gained, the system is fundamentally the same.

Interesting. How is teaming? I am part of a group of five looking for an MMO to replace COH. There are three factions. Do you have to be in the same faction to team? Does difficulty scale up based on team size?

You can do a 3 day free trial by signing up on the website. If you complete 30 missions, it adds an extra 2 days to your trial.

Listen to what he says in his video; the cash shop is purely for cosmetic reasons. Lots of other games have the option to buy skins +++. You can't buy gear who actually makes you stronger (no gear with stats) in the cash shop, so there is no reason to use it at all if you don't have a strong desire to get pretty clothes in this game very fast (then you should be playing The Sims imo).

im kinda relieved that the quest system is at actually a quest log. not a chain quest grind style.

Y'know what, I like the looks of this. Seems refreshing, especially after playing recent mmos and being pretty bored. Seems like this could be good, couldn't hurt to give it a try. I'm also actually pretty interested in the fact that the clothes are cosmetic. If I'm decked out in ugly brown and bulky clothes, I'm gonna get torn away from the game. Which is pretty much a large part of good stats armor in SWTOR until level 50. So, I like that I can look good without any affect to my stats.

Is the gameplay like gw2 or at least the combat?

Its the way the quests work.... You don't sit there and get the regular "kill this" or "collect this" quests, you actually have to think about things ect.

finally a breath of fresh air in the mmo genre! Definately buying this considering funcom is responsible for the awesome games like the longest journey series. Speaking of which this game has a little TLJ vibe to it which ofcourse is very very awesome! :)
