Finally, We Just Saw Milky Way's Black Hole | Sagittarius A*

Показать описание
The first image of the Milky Way's supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, has been released by the Event Horizon Telescope. Sgr A* is a supermassive black hole that lies 27,000 light years away from Earth at the center of the galaxy. Its mass is about 4 million times the mass of the Sun but a thousand times less than the black hole at the center of the M87 galaxy, the image of which was released back in 2019.

It's beautiful.

It takes so much of humanity's effort to just take a picture of one of the most beautiful limits of human understanding of Nature.

Nature's strive and reach is unfathomable. This just makes me humble and quite and at peace.

WOW!

Can I just level with you in this comment section? Do any of you watch these videos and realize ( not just think, but actually realize it as fact) that if the earth and everything and everyone on it were to just disappear, say with magic or something, just completely gone, that literally not a thing would change in the universe? It would have zero effect on anything. It's terrifying how unbelievably insignificant we all are, and everything we think we have accomplished.

I love seeing these things and watching shows on science tv! It is so fascinating to see things we never could before and at my age I'm glad to see some of these things now! I can only imagine what the future holds!

Videos like this without the external voice just with good inspirational music is very entertaining and inspiring to watch

And James Webb can compile images so much quicker than Hubble. So many stunning pictures and revelations to come.

Absolutely jaw dropping how inconceivably huge these supermassive black holes are.

In the book “ASCENSO, Civilization of the Humus” published on Amazon, a theory is proposed that unifies relativistic and quantum physics, supported by a mathematical and analytical calculation of the fine-structure constant (1/137) for the 3rd dimension and the other dimensions that make up the Universe. It includes parallel and mirror universes. It proposes a mathematical theory of how the multiverse should be structured and the action of dark matter and energy within it

Amazing how everything in time and space is working according to some formula, which can be studied, and it amazes those who observe. And these things are happening in time and space from the beginning of time, but people are discovering them now...

It's the quality (vs quantity) of how one spends one's time. The Universe (or Di-verse) is dynamic, even our planet does not rotate back where it was, our body is not the same as yesterday or the day before, eventually the inevitable; thus, live your life to the full extent. Sometime the balance is more delicate than we think. As supermassive as SGR.A is, in the scale of space, (say ~1, 000+ LY across) it is tiny.

Hi sir, I am your big fan, I love studying astrophysics and quantum mechanics, and I study BASICS OF ASTROPHYSICS pioneered by you and your team and QUANTUM MECHANICS.I, being a class 9 student, hereby request you to please continue your series of quantum mechanics with new videos on new topics like ."WAVE FUNCTION, THE MODEL OF HYDROGEN ATOM, NUCLEAR PHYSICS"etc.

Maybe was complicated because the size of Sagittarius A, nevertheless is crazy how they're different in size, is colossal.

Before black holes, or before any physical phenomena, what did the ‘universe’ consist of? This type of scientific inquiry seeks to answer that question even though we’re only in the early stages. Someone somewhere already knows all the answers. Bank on it.

Good and instructive video. It would have been better if you had also explained Hawking radiation which helps in conjuncturing the presence of the black hole.
