Thank you kindly sir. I graduated with my Bachelor's in 2005 and I just realized that I haven't done any math by hand.... in a very long time. Got a bit nervous, and this was the perfect refresher and confidence booster that "Actually, yes I can". I also loved hearing the mathematician's perspective on his craft: "math is fair"! All the math teacher's I've ever had, and even my current friends who teach math, have the SAME sense of humor... except they may think of it more as observation. It’s a little magic but mostly math rules to make it easier to work with... you move the decimal in both the divisor and the dividend at the same time. So it’s generally easier to work with whole numbers when executing the algorithm.
