How do I beat match in Reaper? How do I make the audio fit the timing of my project? You need to tempo match your loops so they are in time with each other. If you make all samples match the project time grid then they will automatically match each other.

This basic tutorial shows how to use the time-stretch tool (hold Alt and trim the edge) to "squeeze" or "stretch" the audio so it occupies in the project the correct number of bars.
1. Listen to the audio and count how many bars of music you hear.
2. Figure out where the audio should finish based on your project time grid.
3. Use the time stretch hand tool to stretch the edge of the audio so what you see matches what you hear.
4. You may choose to adjust the project tempo if you are not happy with how quickly the audio is now playing.

Example - If you bring in a drum beat with an original tempo of 80 bpm and squeeze it so it fits your project with a tempo of 120 bpm it will speed up the audio to a rate of 1.5 (150%) of it's original speed which you might like... or not. Experiment with the project tempo to find what fits your taste or creative vision for the project.
