I hope President Biden changes his mind. Japan is one of the US's best allies and US Steel workers should have a say on whether they want to sell their Company to Japan or not. If you can't trust Japan who can you trust...

It’s unfortunate that politics got in the way of an otherwise good deal. And it’s more consequential than it seems: Nippon would have helped us make steel with hydrogen — a fuel that’s expensive now but will soon become cheap and plentiful. Indeed, so much so that the Department of Energy is busy promoting new ways to use it. Making steel would be one of the smarter uses of hydrogen but we don’t know how to do it yet here in the United States.

So if the U.S needs steel from its manufacturers in times of (national security) at a certain price will the Japanese comply? will they risk losing investor interest l, no probably not, so yes it could be drop the crap. The same could be said about an American company like ClevelandM owning it but at least the government can seize the steel without causing international backlash and negative foreign sentiment.

Japan's rice market should be opened to the United States.

This is absolute propaganda at its finest. US Steel isn’t struggling. The CEO is threatening to shut down operations if the deal doesn’t go through. He’s literally blackmailing the entire country and using union jobs as his chips.
