How To Pick Up A Dog

Nothing beats a walk with your dog for exercise, bonding, and mental stimulation. But sometimes you just have to pick up your pup. Here’s a quick video tutorial on the right (and wrong) way to pick up big and small dogs.

Great video! I definitely would watch out for bigger dogs on this one if you can pick them up! The belly pick-up can end quite poorly quite quickly if you have a sensitive dog and you hurt their tummy.

my poor pupper is getting old and I hoped there might be a better way to lift her as she ages... nope..
shes a big dog but she now kinda struggles being put back down on the ground after being lifted...
she kinda freaks out as here muscles age and she does not fully trust being set down gently even tho that has always been the case :(
also yes 100% there are different ways to pick up different size dogs and the video is a great refrence for anyone new to such things.

i've been picking up large dogs wrong my entire life

I have an english bulldog, sometimes we have to pick him up but his spine is quite fragile amd the way you pick up that pitbull(or whatever it is) doesnt seem fit for him. Is there another way that doesnt bend or put pressure on the spine? (Or hips)
