I name their wedding crate in Serato with their names and date. Pancho Maria 10.10.2020. It helps stay organized. Great tips all the way around!

Making my cheat sheet timeline has been a staple for me since DAY 1!! It has helped me help other vendors stay on point and I’ve had coordinators use it many times. Solid advice!

3 wedding crates on my desktop:
Melissa Prelude
Melissa Ceremony
Melissa Reception

Helps keep me super organized and shit flowing the way it should.

Next: Use god damn mini Velcro straps! Clean up your look, keep it tight, keep it right. Not only will it make you look super super professional, but you’re bride with subconsciously thank-you when she gets her wedding photo album.

Next: Batteries, batteries, batteries. 3 packs. 2 for you, and a buffer pack- for your wife.

Having a script to work from is mandatory. Coordinated up-front with client and yeah for sure hand it out to all key staff at the event to include your client at the event so they know what's going on and when and can make any adjustments they may want.

Would love to see a video of you breaking down how you put together your wedding day cheat sheet. Loving your videos, hands down best information on You Tube.

I always ask for the Bride and Groom to tell me their names so I pronounce it as they want it. I also check what surname they want used as increasingly over here it's not automatically the Grooms surname being used.

Number 4 for me or maybe number 00, I always visit the venue before the day to see the layout, agree where I am setting up etc. and get to put faces to names for all parites. I find it makes the event go better if you have already started to build up a relationship with the staff.

Great tips! I used to burn copies of my event schedule until I snapped! Hey..everyone has a camera on them and more accessible than a piece of paper that might get lost or destroyed. I ask them (whoever) to snap a pic of my event schedule 😎

i use DropBox Paper.
the brides love it helping them to organize their whole event and i don’t have to remember all the questions to ask.
it’s just a spread sheet i created in logical sections like all the major DJ management systems but much simpler and no fees.

in it i have a Spotify/Tidal/Music collaborative playlist with their monogram on it. which also helps sell the monogram add on.

i’m not afraid to book ‘budget’ weddings because i find that after they’ve paid the deposit and start researching options they are more likely to add on.

just had a couple book on a budget - things are slow so i really wanted the sale. just music but i threw in the ceremony sound for free and took 50% deposit - $900, so not cheap.

after the first 1 on 1 planning call they already wanted to talk up lights and synchronized (SoundSwitch) dance floor lights.

i’m still trying to get my video marketing going, and eventually i think i’ll book more economy weddings with up sale add on drip marketing via emails.

I also put people's names in the comment section (Serato crate) for special requests/dances/songs. I'm a stickler for using cliients/guests names as often as possible with announcements instead of 'the bride and groom'

Number 3 is very important also make sure you personally ask the bride and groom there name and how to pronounce the grooms last name not in text but a actual phone call sounds silly but i had a wedding organizer give me the grooms wrong name more than once lol

Stop saying bride and groom! Say first names when referring to the bride and groom!
