I am so impressed by this hospital and their staff! They definitely deserve recognition. So many hospitals would say “we can’t do this, it’s too dangerous for the patient.” I’m a registered nurse and I was taught in nursing school that it was very important to respect a persons beliefs and accommodate them. But I’ve literally never seen a hospital willing to go out of the way like this for anyone for any reason.

Hospitals can be SO wonderful. When we found out that my father wasn’t going to make it until my originally scheduled wedding, the hospital nuns (and we were Lutheran, mind you) helped us move the entire wedding forward two days & to the hospital chapel. They even hid a padded recliner on wheels so it would be available on the day & dressed my dad in his tux. They reserved their biggest conference “room” (more like a small auditorium) for a short reception afterwards. Some even slipped in the back to watch my father determinedly stand &, even though we’d been warned he couldn’t, walk me up the aisle with a nurse on his other side. And they cried with everyone else. P.S. AND two of my parents’ best friends who were atheists became Christians that day because of seeing the miracle of my dad walking.
