Happy to say that I’m following the legacy behind me, my dad served 12 years in the South Carolina national guard, and I enlisted in February into the Georgia National Guard. I leave for basic training in 3 weeks

I’m enlisted for two years active duty, and two years reserve or national guard. I’ll likely choose national guard. I ship out July 31st, MOS is 68W.

I want to join the National Guard in my state and I’m 17 years old, however, I heard that the Guard will force me to go active duty because of the shortage of active duty soldiers. I’m not sure if the person who told me that is correct but is it possible for me to join the Guard for part time and not be forced to join active duty? I plan to do 20 years in the Guard because it’s part time military, job experience, and most importantly, I get to help my community.

I’m currently in the 10th grade while age 17 not even proud I’m supposed to class2021 I was talking to a recruit and he was excited to put me in and get me started but unfortunately I had a legal case open I told him he said it fine I just would have start over when the case is closed but I was having trouble to study the asavb test I just want to better my life do something within my family give a reason my mom to be proud
