In a gesture of respect for all service members past and present, a Marine veteran, Staff Sgt. Tim Chambers, has held a salute for the duration of the Rolling Thunder demonstration in Washington, D.C. for the last 15 years.

This year was unique in that he was joined by his wife. They held their wedding ceremony on the very curb he salutes from the day of Rolling Thunder.

This is why the U.S.M.C. calls it " earning the title ". Those men and women don't just become Marines, they earn it.
Carry on, Marines.

I hope SSgt Tim Chambers becomes part of Marine history. He stepped up and beyond his station even after he left the Marine Core. He has done more for the past, present and future veterans than any Congress men or women have ever done. And he didnt do it for glory or fame. He did it for those who have served or will serve our nation and also for those who never made it home.

I've seen this video countless amount of times and every time I'm brought to tears. This Marine is the definition of honor, courage and duty. I thank you and every single person serving and giving your lives to protect our country. 🇺🇸

Although i was in Bosnia as a mere Engineer, i understand the feeling when you question the reason of being in a conflict.
The passion slips away, and it needs something like this man to stand for you, while others in power are so high on there horse they don't see us.
Much respect from the UK, from a worn out computer slob who was once there and understand what this means.

I will never forget the time I met an 80 yr old man wearing a Semper Fi t shirt. He was in exceptional shape for his age. I asked him " we're you a Marine". He said No, I AM a Marine". I thanked him for his service. To anyone who is serving or has served, wartime or peacetime, I wholeheartedly thank you. I am proud of you and proud to be an American.

"Thank you, Marine, for giving me my welcome home" ... That right there hits pretty damn hard. I'm a 29 year old grown man, and that managed to tug a few drops of tears. As a prior-service Airman, even I have such a deep respect of the sacred brotherhood and lore shared between Marines. This is the kind of dedication you guys instill into your troops, especially as early as Recruit training, and we see it in so many Marines, so hats of to you guys and to SSgt Tim Chambers!

I don't feel as though it'd be appropriate for me to repeat the Corps' motto, so I wish you all Godspeed, and "Aim High".

Those who know what it's like to live without freedom cherish it the most and cherish those who do everything in their power to defend it. This is what a true hero looks like.
