Making all the right moves in the Mazda CX-5

If you have ever watched just one of my videos you would know that the Mazda CX-5 has always been right at the top of my recommendation list. And it continues to be. It might be getting ever so slightly dull-looking and that is only because of its rivals who are coming in hot lately. But just you wait, when the new model arrives I have no doubt that it will be a stunner. And so the CX-5 will continue to be a popular choice for families. I'm a serious petrol-head, so how come I am only finding your channel now? Advertise yourself a bit more, you rock, so much character.

Anyway, buying a Cx-5, 2020 model. Need it for mostly long-distance travel. I do 1200 - 1500kms every 5-7days. I have been using a 2015 Polo and I absolutely love its fuel efficiency even at sustained high speeds. VW Polo is a legend but my current 1.6 is down on power. So upgrading to a CX-5. Just concerned about fuel consumption at 'high cruising speeds' #wink wink... if you have experience with the CX-5 2.0 on this, please share. Buying it in 2weeks max

It only does that engine noise in sport mode. And it’s because it’s set to pick up revs quickly

Wife has the Alkera diesel. Bought in January 2021. A lot more expensive than what Juliet tested but has plenty power and very economical. Averages around 7, 1l/100 around town and below 6, 3 on open road. Took a 6 year / 100 000km maintenance plan when she bought which was available from Mazda as against the 3 year service plan. At this price point would have expected a better plan. The screen is small and you need to come to a stop before the touch works. Pity as Mazda do have a much larger screen available so MazdaSA not speccing the latest stuff.
