He fixed a broken product. He has made it exciting again. People that aren’t baseball fans are paying attention. The sport is growing globally. He has done a great job over the last three years but people remember a couple of dumb remarks and say he’s the worst commissioner despite the fact there was a commissioner who kept the colour barrier around.

These series are actually pretty good for baseball. Don’t care what people cry about. This is the best way to play in the far East since the time difference is so large and these countries they play in have a love for baseball and it’s great they get the opportunity to see real MLB games.

Absolutely not. Allowing teams to lay half a billion dollars in payroll while other teams pay a tenth of that is an absolute joke. Not stripping the Asterisks of their title and seriously punishing the players and organization was a joke too. The runner on 2nd in extra was a terrible idea. There are numerous other things that made him a joke.

I agree the rule changes make baseball much more exciting and Manfred should get credit. But tv ratings are still down, so he needs to figure something out to compete with the other American pro sports.

To say Rob Manfred has improved the game just because of the shift and pitch clock is absolutely ridiculous. Just off the top of my head how about…

- Astros cheating scandal
- Calling the WS trophy a “piece of metal”
- Handling of the 2020 COVID season
- 2022 MLB Player lockout
- Politicizing baseball when he moved the 2021 all star game
- Emphasizing commercialization and profit over the fans
- Restructuring the minor leagues and completely eliminating 42 teams.
- the year of “juiced” baseballs
- playoff expansions.
- etc.

Not to mention the players absolutely hate the man. But yeah, the pitch clock and shit ban will be his legacy…

Baseball is better now, no arguments. But Jomboy can't claim to be "baseball's biggest fan" when he didn't pick Bonds in the HR draft because by his own admission he didn't know what the good Bonds year was.
