“Easter Parade”—2nd Sunday Jazz Preview

Irving Berlin’s “Easter Parade” debuted in 1933’s Broadway review “As Thousands Cheers,” sung by Marilyn Miller. However, Berlin originally published the melody in 1917 as the WWI song “Smile and Show Your Dimple”; he later revised the melody and wrote new lyrics to create the more well-known song.
