Thanks George! I think you'll be OK... Japan does rain quite a bit, but their cities and transit are setup pretty good to handle rain. Pick yourself up a clear plastic umbrella like I've got in the video... they sell them at every convenience store, 7-11, etc. Makes seeing the sights easier since it's clear :)

@MrAasgaard Thanks for the feedback. And good suggestion to stay at one of the hot spring hotels! I've stayed at a few in other parts of Japan and they are a pretty cool experience.

Too bad about the rain but a very nice introduction to Nikko. Instead of a day trip you can also stay at one of the many hot spring ryokans in the area and have a very nice meals. For some ideas see Japanese Guest Houses.

Nice video! I will visit Japan and Nikko the first week of July 2013 and I am a bit worried about the rain (rainy season). As I see in your video it was raining! Does the rain destroy the experience or you can still enjoy your holidays?

This was helpful for when I went to Nikko. They stopped charging for the extra cat statue. Although, they might have just added it to the entrance fee
