I'm not sure if I like what ifs better than it roars, but i definitely think this was the only song on the soundtrack where the lyrics, music and vocals were designed to support each other. Definitely my favorite out of the new soundtrack

Yes we can all agree that It Roars is better. But here’s my thoughts: Erika Henningsen played Cady with like this enthusiastic peppy energy (which is why she’s playing Charlie in Hazbin Hotel) and It Roars is a high energy bombastic opening. Angourie Rice by comparison is playing Cady as more quiet and withdrawn— basically the way Lindsay Lohan did. I think it makes sense to change her number to be less energized and more contemplative to match this.

What worked about It Roars and Stupid with love is the incorporation of African (?) music which showed her Kenyan background and how out of place both her and her songs are in comparison to the rest of the songs but nope, let's make it like every other song on the soundtrack 😔💔
