'Amandla' means that despite the obsticles we face we will overcome and to hear Amandla when, black faces have smiles on them is freshing And brings me to tears. These comments are really irritating since people don't seem to understand that BEING MIXED DOES NOT ERASE YOUR BLACKNESS. Just because Amandla is mixed it doesn't revoke her ability to talk about this issue. In this world, mixed black people are seen as black (bcs some people still believe in the racist one drop rule).

i used to have a dark skinned friend and she wire braids to school and my mom loved her braids. her hair was so shiny and clean. it was natural(i dont want to be racist)

Probably it is super late to see this comment but I just wanted to say that since I was a kid I love and admire black women/ girls in general soo much. You were, and still are, always an idol and an image of strenght, dignity and attitude, so beautiful and powerful, you are such an inspiration for me. I don't know if I sound awkward or silly in some way, but I admire you so much <3 :)
