I remember my history teacher who taught us the actual meaning for ring around the rosie. “Ring around the rosie” was the circles that would be one of the symptoms for the black plague. “Pocket full of posies” was when they would put posies in the corpse’s pockets to make them smell better. “Ashes, ashes” was talking about when they burned the bodies. “And we all fall down” was referring to that they would all die from it. Yeah that like ruined that nursery rhyme for me

*“So Richard the III was an egg..?”*
Okay, are we gonna ignore the fact that the song never said anything about Humpty Dumpty being an egg?

Anyone else is terrified each time she says "you know what this one is about?"?💔

I find it interesting that I was taught most of these rhymes from my teachers in school- not other kids and parents. We had school assignments around the nursery rhymes. One teacher I had even asked the class what we thought the rhymes "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater, " "The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, " and "Humpty Dumpty" were about and we all gave innocent answers in those days before common household internet, but the teacher never enlightened us about the truth. She left us to assume it was an innocent rhyme.

A lot of comments about how disturbing the stories are, but not enough feedback on just how incredible she is at making these.

This doesn't surprise me since I remember jumping rope to the chant of "Lizzie Borden had an axe"

If I was a talent scout, I would definitely pick this lady for the next suspense of thriller movie, and she even cries on cue! Very talented.

Something my kindergarten teacher used to have us sing was; "Clean up, clean up! Everybody everywhere! Clean up, clean up! Let's get moving!" When putting toys away and my friend pointed it out how sinister it was when I sang it. :')

I was scared out of my mind when I learned what London bridge was about. I used to play with my friends with that song. Holy cow I’m traumatized.

"Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?"
"Yes sir! Yes sir, three bags full!"
"None for the master, none for the dame, all for the little boy that lives down the lane.. :D"
