A video that's a bit different than other AP videos we've done. This one delves into the question "is it ok to punch a Nazi?" Its a good question in our current political landscape. But this is no time to stop using reasoning and logic. Think we're wrong? Great! tell us why in the comments below. But in any case, stay safe out there

Calling someone a 'nazi' does not make it so.
It's a great shame and more than a little ironic that those making such claims have basically reduced the word to nothing more than a schoolyard slur.

You are misrepresenting Machiavelli here quite a bit. Machiavelli actually wants a ruler to always take the non-violent approach provided it is not disadvantagous. This is not the case because he beliefs these acts to be morally wrong, but because he very clearly states that a tyrant will be overthrown sooner rather than later. (This is a bit simplified though)

some poor arguments there. stopping the spread of Nazi ideas would certainly not mean suppressing history. Attacking Nazi's physically often humiliates them and highlights how ridiculous their philosophy is. They certainly can't glorify white supremacy whilst picking up their teeth. Right wing groups in the UK have been kept to tiny numbers thanks largely to the actions of anti-fa, turning up in greater numbers whenever they get together in public. Also, attacking them only creates sympathy amongst those who are already sympathetic. If you feel sorry for someone who advocates genocide when they get punched you are a Nazi, and part of the problem.
