The politicians had to know this crisis was coming. Now it is not possible to solve it. Decades of intentional ignorance has allowed developers to make billions while being completely irresponsible with their construction methods, aided by perfunctory construction inspection. Now the end result: Developers are living high and dry while condo owners are holding property that is worse than worthless. Florida's entire coastline is becoming blighted by rows and rows of failing, impossible-to-insure structures that will gradually be abandoned as many start to collapse; first and second floors awash in the rising waters of the new climate.

He signed the bill into law. Now he is kicking the can back to the Legislature. Where was his veto pen with this law?

If your intent to cure this condo crisis is genuine, please start urgently. There are hundreds of owners facing foreclosure daily in Miami, FL, due to the abusive HOA assessments. Year to date: 2, 319 owners filed foreclosures as of August 2024. It's Scary!

Assessment = bankruptcy HOA fees sky the limit.
Most buildings foundation were built with non galvanized rebar, Florida is a peninsula exposed to high salinity, so limited life on foundations...

The unjust, and unfair property tax and any other fees or taxes tied to your ability to keep your shelter, a necessity for life, must be abolished, except for those major corporations who have been purchasing all of the single family homes to use as rentals for profit, thereby artificially raising the cost of single family homes and reducing access of home ownership. Revenue can be substituted by higher (just as they do with things such as ciggarettes, etc. AND with prohibition of passing that on to the renters) statewide-distributed tax on big business that purchases mass quantity (an unfair practice) of homes to rent, a fair consumption tax on true luxury goods capped at what would be your otherwise be your unjust property tax burden, and should it fall short, then services need to be reevaluated. No one should be indentured by taxes, much less taxes based upon inflation and builder profit margins, to keep their shelter, or lose your shelter because you can no longer afford the tax burden.
