If you just make the marks on the level it’s self it saves you a bunch of steps.

Works fine until you find a mirror that has the brackets screwed unevenly to the back of the mirror. Apart from that it's an excellent tip.

That's fine and dandy, but you can still do it without the tape... you already scribed the level line, at center, just measure 7" out both ways...

Also if you leave the tape on and then drill you won’t have “chips” around the hole’

I put the tape on the level and mark the tape and then its one smooth action to level and mark your anchor points.
