Released in 2012, this 52-minute public television documentary reveals the motivations, struggles and ultimate triumphs of the people designing and building the most elaborate ground-based astronomical observatory ever, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). The program documents some of the first observations made by the telescope, foreshadowing the scientific rewards that will be its heritage. Filmed on three continents--and at altitudes ranging from sea level to 16,500 feet--the film features breathtaking views of Chile's remote Atacama Desert, and demonstrates the lengths to which humans will go to understand the universe they call home.

there is an audio loop from min 20:36 to minute 23, after that it catches back and syncronicized to the video, looks like the cutting of the video was bad..

I wish I could do what these people do.
Must be one of the best jobs to explore the universe.
I haven't seen one Astronomer not jumping out if of their boots with the passion they have for this job.

There are a few audio glitches but it's mostly pretty good.

Is this radio telescope or optic telescope? After all of that money and effort the final image is computer generated? If this is radio telescope, why the female narrator is kept saying the light it receives?

HL Tauri looks like an electromagnetic phenomenon to me. Birkland Currents do that kind of seperation.
Whatever?

Extremely annoying dropouts (or total interruptions) of narrator. And we're experiencing total audio-visual repeats. Too bad. It _could_ have been a good, informative documentary. It missed. Completely. Goodbye.
