ABOUT ME: I’m a former Jehovah’s Witness who faded away from the religion around 2 years ago. I believe that current members of the organization deserve to be aware of the abuses committed by Watchtower. I am a big proponent of religious freedom and critical thinking, and invite my audience to be kind, open minded, and always stay curious.

Watchtower tactics make me cringe. Their use of “organization” is slowly replacing god himself.

My journey started with some serious issues in the Bible itself. But this sort of thing really bothered me on another level when I started to "wake up." It's so hard to get around Jesus saying, "no one comes to the father except through me" and warning of false teachers claiming authority. Then having the Governing Body claiming that everyone has to go through THEM to get to Jehovah. The words of JESUS are powerfully disruptive to the JW Organization. He was not a fan of religious power structures. It's not surprising that they're much bigger fans of Paul and Moses.

Thanks Panda, really enjoyed this vid. I started cult recovery therapy a couple of months ago, and recently went over the need to set and assert boundaries. Cults absolutely stop you from having personal boundaries, was very interesting to learn how. The example they gave in this WT, if someone offends you in some way, that's the time to set a boundary ie you don't get to treat me in this way, I won't tolerate it. Instead they tell you to internalise it and get over it - not dealing with the problem and reducing your sense of self worth, making yourself a door mat.

So glad I'm out now just wish I got out sooner!!

The clip of the Disfellowshipped man sitting in the Dark (Satan's place) as his wife walks with a sister towards the car gives the feeling of the Disfellowshipped man being shamed and implies the shame he's brought to his wife.
Disgusting!

Well done Panda! You’ve certainly stirred up the collective defense of JWs. Is it the pinprick of light breaking thru the darkness of their world?⏰

Recently I was told by someone that they grew up in the truth and never a victim of CSA so it does not happen and then he laughed at the victims.

It's important to note that some cults seem to encourage independent thinking or asking questions, but there's either a hidden line you're not supposed to cross and if you do, there's consequences; or, all thinking and questions are supposed to result in a deeper commitment to the group and if it doesn't, there's consequences. In the cult I was in, for example, I was allowed and even encouraged to question why the various rules were in place, but when more rules kept being added and I voiced my concern about the level of restriction that kept being increased, that was treated as insubordination and a sign that my spiritual safety was at risk. When I began re-evaluating my commitment to the group after the leaders forced me to move away for a time, that was treated as a positive development; but my pleas for advice were ignored and when I actually left the group after radio silence for a year, they reacted very poorly. It's not always as easy to spot as not being allowed to think for yourself at all.

Excellent review. Shout out to Charlie at Millstone Research too. The link of God and the organisation it is hard to see them as separate with the language used. I know I viewed them in that way and it’s only when you take the step back and look objectively that you can see how control has been deployed. Good stuff Panda.

It's really funny in my experience that the reason why I left the organization was apparently due to the demand to return to in-person meetings, which I extremely disagreed with this decision from the GB simply due to it not being a smooth transition back from quarantine lifestyle. I was this very loyal and studious, but introverted, brother who vastly enjoyed the Zoom meetings. Due to the lockdowns, my sprituality, mental and emotional health was at its highest. Sure, thanks to the quarantine lifestyle, I was happy to indoctrinate myself even further than ever before, but at the same time I also enjoyed studying other interesting topics of psychology that helped me learn more who I am. It gave me more inner strength to be able to give back to my JW friends and community because a big break from being in-person during meetings exhausted me, and this lockdown life was helping me grow an even better person than ever before. I once genuinely believed the results due to the pandemic was a gift from Jehovah.

I guess it was also a blessing from Jehovah by forcing me to go back in-person 2 years later. It caused me to finally leave the culty organization either way. 😂

It's so refreshing watching the watchtower decline in membership and the "apostate" vids on YouTube continue to get more popular.

So many good videos that break it down for those just leaving and those brave enough to watch in their early beginnings of doubt. Keep up the good work! Good luck too
