Get out of the fight or flight stress response.

I'm starting to believe that getting out of the bodies stress response is just as important as the whole journaling or "feel your emotions" work that's been spoken about in the TMS world. Here's my take.

I have been in the fight or flight stress response to some extent for years
and it is no wonder that I deal with the various chronic pains and
sensations. Your videos make it so much easier to understand the
process.

I appreciate your teachings very much. While I knew I’ve been in fight or flight mode much of my life, I had trouble changing it because I felt I was lying to myself in some way by not facing reality. Your wording has helped… especially the part about saying frightening things to ourselves. I thought “I wouldn’t do that to anyone I love, why am I doing it to myself” that hit home .
I also wanted to mention I went on a very very low carb animal based diet 5 1/2 months ago and it greatly lessened my inflammation, and cured my restless leg syndrome, and many other things esp metabolic health. But I still was stuck with my depressive pain
Full way of thinking and could not get out of home or entertain hanging with others. So I am working on this now, and it is much easier because I have only a few pains left . This hopefully will help others. Thanks ❤

Very helpful. Just discovered sarno’s books a week ago. Thank you. The “oh no” vs. “oh well” video really helped me last night.

I had myself convinced I had an autoimmune disease for almost 2 years. Realizing it is tms. Bloodwork normal, nothing extraordinary in MRIs. Realizing now I can greatly reduce or even turn off the pain (but it’s temporary and moves somewhere else). First time I’ve felt hopeful in a while.

I have been healthy all my life, but have been plagued with aches snd pains. I have used natural remedies and exercise, yoga, dance. And those things have helped. But these teachings that you bring are the real key to bring balance, ease and pain free for me . Thank you so much .

If being abused, and/or in an unsafe situation, it is important to be able to stay reasonably calm. Because it's very hard to think clearly and intelligently when in freeze fight or flight. It's as though the brain literally just can't think, and when scared and overwhelmed, that unfortunatly starts to kick in.

Hello, I'm new to the channel. I really enjoyed the video, it's like a one on one talk and I like the simplicity and calming nature. My symptoms of chronic fatigue began after my relationship ended later got worse after I felt betrayed by my best friend. I suffered a lot of grief and had ongoing confusement and thoughts over the losses. Now I'm suffering from chronic fatigue after covid. Not to blame anyone, I think I was just overwhelmed by lifes events. I did not even think of it being connected possibly. I do believe in recovery, thank you for the video.

I dont experience chronic pain (i used to but had a surgery which resolved the issue), but i do have pretty extreme anxiety symptoms/attacks and your videos are extremely helpful for me. Thank you so much, I finally feel like I understand what's going on and why I start to feel so bad despite nothing actually being wrong

I wish I saw this video back in 2017 when I was going to college. In the fall of 2017 I broke up with my girlfriend. I thought she gave me a disease and I prolonged going to a doctor for a a year and half. It ate me up night and day. The thought of having a disease set off my fight or flight response. I really am disappointed because I went and got checked two years later and I had nothing. But the damage was done. Believing that fear ruined my life. I can’t even get out of the parasympathetic mode. I have no drive, no appetite, I can eat and not get full, chronic pain, sleep is deeply disturbed, I can’t sleep for more than an hour without waking up. This has been going on since the fall of 2019. Only time it seemed to get better when I smoked weed for 4 months. My best advice for anyone that’s experiencing a constant fight or fight response. Stop it or you’ll wind up similar to me. It really sucks I don’t wish it on anyone. Thank you for the video. Any tips to help reverse this would be awesome :/ I’m so depressed

Jeez, I've been in fight or flight mode for days now. Like a constant state of anxious, every minute and every second of every day. The symptoms are scaring me. I cannot switch it off. I know there is no reason to be anxious, but I just cannot turn it off in my brain 😭

Thank you Dan...I came to your channel via The Steady Coach and have PPPD - a lot of what you say overlaps and it makes so much sense. Can't wait to watch more.

For some reason, this one popped up on your FB page this morning and I really needed to hear this message TODAY. For the last few days I have awakened, not in physical pain, but in the crazy world of anxiety which for me is worse than physical pain. I come to my journal first thing and I try to get rid of it. Realizing that pushing it away with great fear wasn't helping, I tried to accept it and have an open house as you have suggested in the recent past. (I simply love that imagery, btw.) But this anxiety is a hard friend to accept. So... THIS! I realize once again that I am working too hard. Today I will try harder (LOL) to have fun. :)

I heart that propanolol helps to break a pattern of flight or fight response, many people use that.
