My uncle was a bridge inspector in Missouri/Arkansas regions. He said so many are horrifically in bad shape. Over half! It’s why sometimes I hold my breath as I cross...

“Saving money” by failing to maintain bridges works about as well as failure to fix your roof!

What a coincidence that biden was promoting his build back better infrastructure plan about rebuilding bridges in the same town

It’s a shame that only 10% of this infrastructure bill would even go to something like this

That's all-American infrastructure for you. Imagine if the military budget was directed at upgrading our roads, bridges, electrical grid, internet access, and transportation system instead... We would almost be a developed country.

They knew that bridge was bad way before the 2021 inspection because those things don't rust out like that overnight. So why didn't they rebuild or reinforce it before it collapsed? I live in a small town and county where we don't get tons of federal money for things like that, yet they maintain our bridges very well. But then again, our local leaders don't pocket the funds like other places. The community is very very good about staying informed about the funds coming in and how they are spent.

I’m sure the taxes That was supposed to be put in place for these repairs we’re well spent

Anybody else get that patriotic swell seeing our infrastructure crumble before our eyes and we do nothing about it? God bless America! USA, USA, USA!!!!

Why has this bridge been left in poor condition for so long? Who in Pittsburgh and/or Pennsylvania is responsible for maintaining these structures? How much money have they spent, if any, to maintain and repair these bridges? Why are local and state elected officials and agencies not doing more?

These, and several other basic questions are what I would expect a competent news team to ask. And yet, we heard none in this clip.

QED.

“Oh no, we don’t need infrastructure!”
He said with sarcasm.

There are systems in place to prevent a bridge in this condition from being used. They had to have been bypassed somehow.

They call it "the rust belt" for a reason.

Funny when someone builds a Cobb house off the grid the city and zoning have no problem evicting them or forcing them to tear it down.

our tax money should be going to maintaining infrastructures like this, not to line the pockets of some old greasy politician

Keep trying Joe! Don’t expect any help by Republican obstructionists and a few select Democrats. All you can do is your best. LETS GO BIDEN! 🇺🇸

Some of y'all clearly don't recall the St. Paul bridge failure. I hope it's not your families caught out there when the next bridge drops.

Good to see the “regular joe” from Scranton is letting his home state fall apart. Good thing only 10% of the “infrastructure” bill would go to fixing these problems. Great work government.
