Ascent of the Dom in the Mischabel Range of the Wallis Alps via the North-Flank (normal route) - rated a PD+, this climb poses some challenges, especially in its length and high altitude. It is the highest mountain that is entirely located in Switzerland, so the route is busy in good conditions.

We found good conditions and great weather on the climbing day (3rd August 2024). Originally eyeing with an ascent via the Festi Ridge, we decided to go for the normal route via the Hobärg Glacier, since there was some fresh snow cover from the night before. We started our ascent in the Dom Hut (which is already a challenging hike/climb to reach) and got back down along the same route, and then continued all the way down to Randa on the same day.
