we're missing a movie where the reincarnated versions of the protagonists gradually regain their memories while they grow up and actually have a happy ending (not a mecha genre, but maybe a comedy slice of life ish one)

I just finished the anime two days ago not because I found it late it’s because, I was afraid to finish such a beautiful anime and say goodbye I sure hope for great things in the future for those people in Darling and in the real world it may be fake but to us it felt so real and I will forever love this anime if it never comes back, I will never let go..

This is one of those things that wouldn’t make sense to have a season two. You could reboot it or make a spin off but it wouldn’t be what we fell in love in. And I think that’s what makes this even sadder: the fact that we can’t relive this.

This was gooey and fuzzy lovey dovey, the kind of stuff my former teen self would go gaga over and how I would describe falling in love so to me, having finished the series and not being to come back to it gave me major withdrawal.

Also what’s truly messed up (at least in my case) is that I’ve eerily felt the way Hiro does about not being able to remember something or someone that I know was very important. I manage to ignore it a lot but watching this...

to me, this was the saddest moment in the entire show because this was basically where they had to say goodbye without knowing it. all the characters on earth were waiting for them to return but, they never did, they practically ended the war with VIRM (for a very long time cause they have to completely rebuild their army and so) and it shows that the two sacrificed themselves and the others on earth are just everlastingly waiting for them to come back, since they still were talking about them 8 years later. watched this scene 4 times in the entire show and it’s still sad every time lol

Man its been 2 years, we need a season two, VIRM has already said they are coming back and We all know Hiro got his memories cuz hes narrating. Or at least give us an alternate ending or OVA i cant live wit this

Unsatisfying and disappointing. Now I’ve got this idea stuck in my head and I can never complete it because the writers took things to astronomical levels without really caring.

It should have ended slowly after the VIRM retreated. Zero Two should have been discovered to be capable of bearing children, plantations should have learned to coexist with klaxosaurs, and Hiro and Zero Two should have created a planetary defensive system to repel the VIRM.

Also, WHY AM I ALWAYS A YEAR LATE AND OUT OF THE LOOP WITH THIS KIND OF THING?!?!? I JUST WANT TO WATCH AN ANIME THE YEAR IT GETS RELEASED, DANGIT!

Can't believe it wasn't a happy ending though for Hiro and Zero Two. What breaks my heart is the squad still waiting and hoping for them to come back one day.
