@DjMartech Yes, any LED is better than Halogen, (in most cases). These fixtures are no longer in my mobile rig, I use all LED lighting from ADJ.... including mega bar pros, Vizi LED spots, Mega Panels, REVO Rave, and REVO 4....

I don't really follow, but the Intimidator 1.0's have a 250 watt halogen bulb. All the new scanners by both ADJ and Chauvet have LED light source, which is SO MUCH better. I actually retired these fixtures this week, and now have American DJ Vizi Spot LED's which are in a whole different category, but I can still answer question if you need me to :).

@djadam221 Yes, they can, they DO NOT have a Duty Cycle, so you can leave them on for as long as you want, just keep in mind that they will be warm/hot when you need to pack them up. The stock bulbs last around 300 hrs. The Phillips Lamp, that I have in these last around 1000 hrs. Hope this helps!!

thats the chauvet chase controller, for my non dmx lighting, at that time I had 6 par cans that I chased, but now I have all LED dmx fixtures, for my wash lighting, and what I use that for now is just to turn lights on, basically a power supply, but i can control it if I want to.

I have the controller in a SKB roto x case, and that was sitting on top of a table.

What is the exact model name and number of the Chauvet controller you're using? I can't seem to find one that looks like it on the Musicians Friend site.. Is it an Obey 40? Thanks! Oh and awesome drumming on the Damage Control vid.. Rock On!

well, these are good for both mobile and permanent applications, the only thing is the beam angle, or the amount of light that can be measured is a little small for live venues. If you want scanners for just a follow spot, or w/e, i recommend the American DJ 250 Scan, HP or the newer Scan EX. This scanner has a separate color and gobo wheel, and has faster mirror movements. These are good, but the American DJ's are better, you can get them for around 200 a piece, and ebay has some good deals too.

hey are these lights able to be kept on for a whole 4 -5 hour evening?
and how long will the bulbs lastme?

@beka3c You can use ANY DMX controller, I use MYDMX by American DJ, it is software that works great. I do not own/have the controller in the video anymore.

@down2alpha its the DMX 7, its been discontinued for a while, the new Obey series is out, but I use the myDMX ADJ software now.

I believe you switch dip switch 10 on, and it will opposite mirror the master scanner. It's in the manual but I am pretty sure thats it.

Ok, Quick Questions. 1) What is a follow spot? and two, I understand that you cannot change the gobos, but does the color wheel also have individual colors, plus the gobos? Or is it just the gobos?

@PolishGuy89 follow spot in theater or touring is self explanatory, it is a person following the performer te whole time, keeping them in the spot light, and there is no color, or gobo wheel they are combined, so say is is a blue star pattern, and next id a red heart, you cannot switch it to a red star pattern, or a blue heart. It is a single wheel with stationary gobo/color patterns.

It was the Chauvet DMX-7 controller. It is now discontinued. I now use ADJ MyDMX software which is 100% better!
