I’ve lived in Elk Grove since 2006. Love it here, traffic isn’t bad and everything you need is close by no matter what neighborhood you live in.

I moved out of California in 1978 I came back to visit in 2014 oh my I couldn't believe it first time I was ever in California was 1967 they only had one stop sign

EG used to be such a nice, calm place, and then all the buildings started. Now there is traffic, development everywhere pushing wild life habitat out. I have 4 years left to retire than leaving.

Problems with Elk Grove:

1) Zero lot lines
2) Too many people in a city designed for 1000 people
3) speed limits way too low and there is traffic everywhere
4) old geezers all over and they can’t figure out the speed limit while staying in the right lane
5) it’s always hot
6) every neighborhood has an hoa, and as you know those are rotten people
7) zoning, which creates areas of congestion all over town that spreads to other areas

3 generations graduating from EGHS. EG makes me sad with how much congestion we've seen since the pandemic and everyone relocating from the Bay. Also the huge increase to housing cost. 1st time home buyers are priced out of our community.

This video cracks me up. I lived in the Sacramento area most of my life and I'm 75 right now. In the 1970's Elk Grove was considered "the sticks" BUT it was very nice. The City of Sacramento began spreading farther and farther south and the talk at that time was 'Elk Grove would eventually lose its small town, horse country lifestyle'. By the 90's, that's exactly what happened. Sacramento encroached right up to the border of Elk Grove and what happened....gangs, houses galore, traffic, crime beyond belief. Now you can't separate the City of Sacramento from Elk Grove. It's a shame.
Allergies? Oh yes. The saying is if you never had allergies before, you'll have allergies within a couple of years.
I moved out of CA because of high taxes, the liberal mindset destroying the state. Ibwould never encourage anyone to move to any part of California....the State will always be more than happy to take your money and I do mean "take" and the still want they will get it from you. Oh yes and that really fast bullet train that Newsom the governor wants....which now will cost more than double the millions...ALL TAXPAYERS money. The stupidity of California is beyond comprehension. Oh and by the way, the CA government will take taxpayers money for "a designated purpose" and then turn around and "borrow" that money into social programs like new drug needles to pass around etc., etc., etc.
California has lost its mind those that "run to government" like Newsom are just tickled to pieces that you keep voting them into office so they can take your money. Move to Elk Grove?
Run away as fast as you can. Away from California that's been destroyed by liberals who think they have all the correct answers when all they haved ended up doing is destroying a once beautiful state and turned it into an illegal haven giving illegals everything that citizens have worked hard for and now illegals and others demand handouts.
California is an armpit of homelessness, crime off the charts, drugs, lousy lousy lousy schools and a place where taxpayers are the victims. When is the population of CA going to wake up from their stuper? You are being consumed and spit out by bureaucrats who laugh at your ignorance but you know the bureaucrats think you're stupid. Gosh. Look what they have gotten away with....doing everything behind your back but they know if they can convince the citizens of CA that "it's for you", then they banknon your vote to keep them in they have succeeded. Again and again the voters get duped into believing the lies. I am so glad to be out of a state that I once loved but now I can't stand it. Good luck to those who stay, it's a tough decision but I'm so glad I made it.

Elk Grove is growing. If you're entrepreneurial, there's plenty of opportunity to provide entertainment venues.

I moved from Porterville, south of Fresno, much better in terms of climate. There is a sea of weather difference between stockton and elk grove area. Allergies, again is much better compared to the previous location.There is no crime free area anywhere in the world. Compared to bay area LA traffic, we are still better. Air quality, again I came from Fresno area, so definitely better…

Here's my tip for those with allergies: Fennel + Thyme tea. It has been almost 6 months since I drank these teas daily (replacing water) and my symptoms have completely gone. I no longer need to drink allergy meds or wear a mask to avoid pollen. After almost three decades of suffering from seasonal allergies, I will no longer take my doctor's advice since they are working with pharmaceutical to make money.
Anyway, back to my point. Elk Grove sucks. There is no reason for Elk Grove's houses to cost $600k or more. One reason is because Bay Area and Democrats. I moved out years ago and am debt-free, paid off the house, and have just been taking it easy on my work and saving most of my paycheck. About 10 years ago houses in El Dorado Hill cost only $500k.

Horrendous traffic and traffic lights synchronization, nothing but fast food restaurants, no sophistication whatsoever, roads and sig nage not resurfaced in thirty years, no public transportation and a city council with only one concern: new house permits and giving fee raises to the garbage collection company at an incomprehensible rate (almost twice in a year) and speed bumps only in ‘selected’ neighborhoods while residential streets are being used by all sorts of drivers including school buses, Amazon and UPS as their own race tracks! 👎👎👎👎👎

Yikes, this video creates no excitement with a flat delivery and generic information you can get anywhere. EG weather is gorgeous, the grass is always green and that’s why you pay up if you want to live here. Stay wherever you are.

if you want nightlife close to Elk Grove I would recommend Roseville Union club, Roseville has some small bars if you want more of a nightlife-style vibe more vibrant downtown sac is ur best choice. Make sure you get an apt with a pool.
