I tried to show as many of the main features of this phone in this review but I do ramble in certain segments so if you need to use the timestamps to skip along then that's no problems.

A massive thank you to ZTE for sending me this sample out for review!

Welcome back to another in-depth phone review! I am finally looking at a ZTE Phone on the channel as well as finally taking a look at a Foldable Phone on the channel finally!

This is a "Budget" Offering in the Foldable Market. It's an option if you don't want to spend too much on a flagship foldable. This has most of the bells and whistles but at a reduced price.
Granted there are a few other budget foldables out there but this is very close to the Motorola RAZR 40 which has some advantages over the Nubia Flip.

While I don't have the RAZR 40 I just had to go off spec sheets to compare it with the Nubia.
This review was a lot of work. Having a manufacturing defect and having to retest stuff was a big task but I did it. It's finally done and I hope ZTE are happy with the results.

$499 USD is still a lot of money...so should you commit to buying a cheaper foldable or better yet a foldable at all?

Thanks for tuning in to this one and I hope you enjoy taking a look at the Nubia Flip.

*I hope this is an ultimate in-depth review for the ZTE Nubia Flip. I tried to cover everything I can on this phone for people looking to purchase one of these. Hopefully I've been able to deliver*

A massive thank you to ZTE for sending me this sample out for review!
I really do appreciate it! I hope this video has covered most of the main things about the phone.
While we had the small hiccup with the first unit at least the second was great for the review.

You can purchase it here if you like:

I have to select "paid promotion" on YouTube as I received something of value from a third party.

How interesting - I've repaired hundreds of Z Flip devices (you are correct - it is quite difficult for the outer display half), and the inside of this phone looks virtually identical to the internal layout of the current iteration of Flips. Suspecting ZTE let the big players figure out how to properly mature the manufacturing and then followed suit. Smart.

Replacing a defective device is not anything that needs to be praised.
Its the lowest bar you need to pass as a company to not be illegal in most countries.

I've been using ZTE devices off and on since 2015, the one device I had was an absolute unit, I absolutely abused mine till it was disintegrating, and it STILL KEPT WORKING!

Whoa, a well known brand / current phone? I am aware of this but I'll totally watch. My main issue with foldables (specifically Moto and Samsung) is actually the horrendous cameras. Impress me ZTE!

46:00 Speaking of folding phones and needing to be careful with them, my Motorola Razr 40 Ultra's screen suddenly stopped working, out of the blue. It still looked like it's in perfect condition, and the screen itself did "work", but didn't respond to touches at all. Luckily I got a full refund for it and I've had my 8 months of fun with it, I could've got a replacement, but since the " fresh new phone" magic wears off after a bit, I ended up going back to a regular phone. It was a great phone when it worked though! Just thought I'd share my experiences if anyone happens to be thinking about trying one out. I did take good care of it, and like I said, the phone looked still brand new. But I guess it's nice to know that if (probably when) it goes wrong, getting a refund or replacement should hopefully be as seemless and easy as it was for me.

Send it to Hugh Jeffreys, he will fix it probably (if it's possible. I'd imagine parts are hard to find for less popular devices).

p.s. He mentioned you in one the recent videos about Welcome devices from Ali

i do love your videos because they cover almost everything on a device, so i understand that for someone it's way too long but for those devices is good to cover as much as possible. and yes, after a welcome device everything with decent specs is a flagship lol. i see some potential in this but i don't like foldable phones so i'll pass. it's good tho for someone who is not sure and wants to try them somehow.

You might have used ZTE devices before and not known about it as ZTE are an ODM as well as producing phones under their own name 😉

My first smart phone was a ZTE warp sequent. Was a really good device at the time. Had a good root community in the jelly bean era. Never had issues out of it out of odd room issues
