If the drug shows no toxicity, then we can move on to clinical trials, where the drug is firstly given to humans in a very low dosage. The dosage is increased to see if there are side effects. If there are low levels of side effects, the drug is then tested on people with the disease, this is to determine if the drug cures the disease.
