I got the call for my own grandmother in March.. only 4 months since her daughter--my mother--died of cancer. I am thankful for the connections and lessons these tragedies brought me. I give you thanks Mr. Brown. As I stated on Ambitionist Media, your motivational messages have been my daily inspirational vitamin since June 2020. I should add, your background, birthdate, and other commonalities help keep the memory of my parents alive and keeps me tuned in to your stories. My mom and aunt attended Booker T. Washington High School, which probably means you all were there at the same time for at least a semester or two. My mother was a domestic technician who worked in the Miami Beach area (like your mother). My grandmother lived at 1143 NW 58th Terrace, Miami, FL 33127 all my life until she made her transition. My parents were born in Miami, Florida- my mother on February 13, 1945 and my father on February 17, 1932. So together, my parents share your birthdate. I lived in Liberty City and attended Miami, Northwestern Senior High School. Your mentor, Mr. Washington, was my drama teacher for a semester at The West. I graduated from the University of Miami just like your sister. So, you see you not only inspire me but also keep me connected to my parents’ memories and Miami History. Thank you!
