Most social media including Twitter has done nothing that promotes human values or contribute anything to make things on the planet better. It won't make any difference if Twitter survives or dies as a company. In fact if it does go under, then people won't get distracted and can direct their energies towards useful endeavors.

He knew the workers were useless and the company was on a deadbeat path with that crowd. This turnaround is necessary for meaningful progress and to make the company worth what he paid for it. He bought Twitter for its potential and intends to maximize it.
