Prob. 10: A concrete foundation mat of 5-m radius supports
four equally spaced columns, each of which is located 4 m
from the center of the mat. Determine the magnitude and the
point of application of the resultant of the four loads.
Determine the magnitude and the point of application of the
smallest additional load that must be applied to the foundation
mat if the resultant of the five loads is to pass through the
center of the mat.

Sir plz once solve it

4:38 At point C you ended up giving the parallel and perpendicular components of point C rather than the points of the force. Because otherwise the P force should have lined up with the perpendicular one. I'm confused why?

5:14 Also I understand that for the P parallel force you use cos60 but going with that logic- shouldn't the P perpendicular be Pcos30 since we have a right triangle forming on the top the complementary is 30?

If you can clarify that I will be forever grateful.

why does Ra equals P, wouldn't there be an upward force from the support at B?
