Change Highlights in this version:
Amethysts:
- These huge geodes can be found anywhere underground in the overworld
- Amethyst geodes have new stones called Tuff, Calcite, Amethyst Blocks
- Amethyst Buds grow next to Budding Amethyst blocks

Tinted Glass:
- Tinted Glass is a type of glass that does not allow light to pass through

Copper:
- Copper ore can be found in ore blobs across Overworld
- Smelt copper ore to get a copper ingot
- Craft 9 copper ingots to a copper block
- Craft cut copper, cut copper stairs and cut copper slabs
- Copper will oxidize over time
- There are for stages: copper, lightly weathered copper, semi-weathered copper and weathered copper
- It takes 50 - 82 Minecraft days (in loaded chunks) for a copper block to oxidize one stage
- You can wax any oxidation stage by crafting it with honey comb - Waxed copper blocks will not oxidize

Lightning Rod:
- The lightning rod will protect an area of 64 blocks around it (square) from the lightning strikes
- Lightning rods give off a redstone signal when struck by lightning

Spyglass:
- You can use your spyglass to see faraway things

Bundles:
- A bundle can hold a mixture of items, but only one stack’s worth

Candles:
- Crafted from a string and a honey comb
- Candles come in all 16 colors + 1 uncolored variant, dyed through crafting
- Up to 4 can be placed in one block (all of same color)
- Can be placed in cake

Cauldrons:
- Cauldrons can now be filled with buckets of lava!

Minecarts:
- All rails can be waterlogged
- Minecarts can pass through water, but get slowed down more than usual

Mobs:
- A Shulker hitting a Shulker with a Shulker Bullet can make a new Shulker.

Gameplay:
- Experience orbs now sometimes merge when in large quantities to improve performance
- Dirt paths can now be made by using a shovel on dirt, podzol, mycelium or coarse dirt as well as grass

UI:
- Simple firework rockets with 1 gunpowder can now be crafted using the recipe book

I'm so glad that paths are now for any dirt related block.

This is going to be a great update! One thing I hope to see is that we can wax copper blocks by right-clicking on them with the honeycomb in-world, that could be fun for scaling a building to wax the copper roof when it is weathered just right.

Seems like Polished Blackstone Bricks Stairs has an enemy. The Waxed Lightly Weathered Cut Copper Stairs.

The quality of these videos continues to surprise me. Has a nice brisk pace while giving out all the info needed. Bunch of cool transitions as well :-D

Ilmango somehow already designed a really efficient shulker shell farm.

The Minecraft community is amazing 😊

7:55 is kinda ironic since this snapshot fixed the netherack_replace_blobs feature but broke most other nether generation features.

You can also right click candles to make them unlit

1:22 My take on subtitles for this section:
The clusters have four growth stages: They are small amethyst butts, medium amethyst butts, large amethyst butts, and amethyst cluster. The amethyst butts also give off a low level of light.

I can't help myself butt hear exactly this.

Been waiting all day for this while playing with shulker farming mechanics. Thanks for doing these btw.

7:42 Finally I don't have to wait for grass to grow on dirt to make paths!

Around the time of Minecraft live, was it planned to release a first snapshot this early ? It definitely felt like there weren't gonna be any until at least Feb next year, which killed the hype a little bit.
Needless to say, pleasantly surprised to see early snapshots packed with opportunities for feedback !

So many quality of life improvements. I love it! Especially the changed made to grass paths!

I’m hoping bundles aren’t your only plan for inventory related improvements though. They are cool but i don’t think they will solve the issue

I'm glad they made the copper oxidation a lot slower

Not gonna lie the new sound effects are always one of the most exciting things about these updates. I remember the hype when they added the ding to the eye of ender placement in the portal.

Great snapshot, congrat. Great video summarizing it as always.
One future expectation, due to the rule with stairs/slabs and being consistent, now that one of the metal has stairs, maybe the other ones will follow ;)

I feel like they should either not give copper a special "walking on" sound or make all the metals sound different.

Copper should be used for copper wires and redstone. The main function being that the wires do not have to be placed directly on top of a block and automatically connect with eachother however in addition to that they will not interact with redstone dust without another device connecting them making them similar to the slime and honey block in that they are both conductors yet don't interact with eachother. If you do want the. To interact with eachother you would need to use a device known as a copper outlet this would simply connect a copper wire to redstone dust and vice versa allowing for them to transfer signal between the two. One last addition to the copper redstone devices would simply be devices that regular redstone already has but specifically designed for copper in that they can be placed in midair and be connected to from all directions. Basically a copper comparator and repeater.
Next:
The spyglass should be attachable to the helmet allowing you to zoom in with it when ever you press ctrl.

One last thing perhaps warden antlers and goat horns could also be attachable to helmets using the smithing table. They could possibly serve a function or they could also just be for decoration I personally think at least the warden antlers should serve a function such as detecting any vibration from mobs or players within a certain radius allowing easier sight in the dark and for you at times to see through walls.

Thanks! I was on this snapshot like white on rice.

Bundles turn out to be more useful than I had anticipated, but really primarily for very early game. Going on an expedition to collect the first flowers for dyes was so much better with a bundle, and it's also turned out useful in an abandoned mineshaft, what with all the random stuff in chest minecarts. What I don't like about the bundle is the recipe. Rabbits are hard to kill at the start (not that I want to in peaceful mode anyway, because ugh, the screaming). That reminds me; it'd be nice if Mojang embraced the idea of not killing digital creatures if one doesn't want to. Peaceful mode especially suffers from a total lack of thought in that respect. It wouldn't be so hard to devise alternatives for items that can now only be gotten from mobs (and especially so from hostile ones, which bars peaceful players from potion brewing and going to the End). Pet peeve. ;)

Anyway, about the snapshot. I am delighted by the amethyst sounds, and it would be awesome if I could create a sort of background chime for one's home without putting bright purple blocks as the floor everywhere; maybe something in combination with note blocks? I know that's just a minor quality of life issue, but it'd be neat; the sound is very soothing -- there's a reason why wind chimes are so popular irl, but Minecraft doesn't have any wind.

Geodes seem incredibly common, will it stay that way? I have several in my immediate spawn chunks.

Things that were not talked about in the Minecon thingie that turn out to be great: waxable copper in all its stages is super; I was hoping we'd get something like that. What would make it perfect is if we could wax in place. And a water-loggable rail system!!! So excited about that. And the expansion of the grass path creation removes a really annoying limitation for early game village fixers. I spent a lot of my life literally watching grass to grow just so I could turn it into a path. Sometimes it really is the little things.
