In this video I go over a simple example of adding vectors in two dimensions. This is usually one of the first topics covered in a college engineering statics course, and will be the basis for many other concepts covered later in the semester.

If you have any questions, or video requests on this topic, leave me a comment below and i'll be sure to get back to you. Subscribe for more!

Summary for adding vectors in 2D:
1. Find the X and Y components of the vectors (by using trigonometry or geometry).
2. Add up all the X components, and add up all the Y components.
3. Write the vector in cartesian form (engineering notation with the i's and j's)
4. Find the magnitude of the vector (usually by the pythagorean theorem).
