I install the first pkg and gives, I go to install the second and gives this error "software for the update is not installed"

The PKG files were too big for my USB drive so I used FTP to transfer them from my PC to the "packages" folder in my PS3's internal HDD. When I go to the package manager and press triangle on the "PS3 System Storage" no side menu pops up, it only pops up for the "Standard" option. How can I do this but with PKG files on my internal HDD instead of PKG files on a USB drive??
