CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Josh (Tom Hanks) and his boss (Robert Loggia) play a huge electronic piano, to the delight of shoppers.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
More than anything else, 13-year old New Jerseyite Josh (David Moscow) wants to be "big". That's the wish he makes at an odd-looking amusement pier fortunetelling machine. The next morning, Josh wakes up-only to discover that he's grown to manhood overnight! (At this point, the part is taken over by Tom Hanks). Still a 13-year-old mentally and emotionally, Josh decides to hide out in New York City until he can figure out what to do next. He lucks into a job with a major toy company run by kid-at-heart McMillan (Robert Loggia). By cannily bringing a child's eye view to McMillan's business, Josh rises to the top-and in process, he falls in love with fellow employee Susan (Elizabeth Perkins). But he's still a kid, and he'd like to go back to his own world and own body. Written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg, Big proved a crucial success for budding director Penny Marshall, who'd work harmoniously with Hanks again on the radically different A League of Their Own. The cinematography was by Barry Sonenfeld, who went on to become a director himself with The Addams Family. That Big was heavily reliant upon the input of Tom Hanks and Penny Marshall was proven by the failed attempt to turn the property into a Broadway musical.

What melts my heart about this scene is the innocence. The older gentleman is attempting to talk business and notices Tom Hanks’ character embracing fun. They both just take a minute from reality and enjoy life at its finest. No judgment, no negativity, just two grown men embracing youth and having the best time.

The best thing is, the two actors actually did this. There were doubles on hand just in case, but luckily they weren’t needed. Kudos to Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia for being awesome on the floor piano.

The most heart breaking thing about this scene is that kids today will never get to experience big toy stores like this one or toys r us. I remember how great it was to run into toys r us and just be in heaven. The internet killed it

Alongside this scene just being pure joy on film. I love how it's not perfect, there are tons of misteps and it only adds to the scene and makes it more infectiously memorable.

This scene is so nostalgic. My parents had this on VHS downstairs in my den for years.

What I think makes this scene truly transcendent and timeless is how authentic it is. You can see (especially tom’s face) how focus they are on the steps, the tiny off step chords in the back that do not detract, but add to its delight, specifically when Tom hits the wrong note with his right foot in “chopsticks” and then corrects it. It’s so genuine it hurts. You can’t help but watch them with a big fat smile on your face

I love this movie. Taught me as a kid to enjoy being a kid, and now as a adult it has taught to me to always listen to the kid inside.

Funny what sticks with you over the years. Still remember this scene as a kid and it still puts a smile on my face at 37 years young.

One of the most classic movies ever! THIS was the world I loved! No Cell Phones, No Social Media...JUST being free and having fun! That's the world sadly many kids will never know! RIP Robert Loggia ☹ and John Heard (Home Alone Dad) Thank you! And thank you Tom Hanks for making my childhood awesome!!
