I love how the main character's goal isn't to win the MMA championship, it's just to beat the ass of the person he doesn't like. Something as simple as that makes the MC very relatable.

I feel like he does look like a classic protag actually - they’re often the average looking black haired kid that starts off on the social margins and glows up to defeat some enemy or something. But what I find weird is that he’s dedicating his life to defeating *a perfectly kindhearted guy that defended him and just wanted to be his friend* 😂 like there’s _zero motive to hate him, _ but for some reason, instead of focusing on taking down bullies - Aoba just wants to completely demolish the friendly guy & it’s hilarious

one of the reason i love red blue, is how they focus on the other side of MMA, the grappling, as much as i love the mc whos just throws these insane punches (ohma for example). i always love the characters who are really great at submissions and grappling (cosmo imai). and also from a mma fan, i like watching submissions as much as KO's. seeing all these greats submissions shown. thats one of the biggest reasons why this manga is so great, and im so happy it got transulated.

i dont think ive ever read a fighting manga but you managed to make it appealing and i did not click off this video once, i generally listen to manga reviews and such like this in the background and its really cool

Highly recommend checking out the drama series. They put big effort into accurate portrait of fights, crafting some amazing fictional MMA. Visuals and music are top notch, plus all the cast are as pretty as they come. Also there's Takeru cameo!

you should check Red Blue adaptation too! i didn't expect it to be very entertaining--even when they explaining the fight to the viewers. all the actors look similar to the manga character. keito kimura, who played aoba, has that happy-terrifying smile every time he learns new technique to beat up kenshin. it's a short series but manage to have same vibes as the source material.

since this video has dropped I've finished the manga its absolutely great all the fights are so good and detailed and I just love the shark gym and all the different characters you meet along the way

My favorite character here is Amachi (Jiu jitsu coach who has a 9 to 5). Second is Hisagi ( opponent who is studying to be a doctor but realizes he cant leave MMA) and maybe that streetfighter that realizes its more than just fighting when it comes to MMA. Of course, Aoba since I hate hater energy as well like everybody. Very relatable. 😂

I'm glad that the main character has a unique personality. He's not the same "I want to be the strongest" MC we usually see. He's a psychopath that does not really get social cues. Perfect example is his insistance on triangle chokes. The only reason he does that cause he can clearly see his opponent's face when choking him out while he's grinning ear to ear.

i am a mma beginner about a month in and i learned a bunch of defense and ofenseive techniques by reading red blue im gonna try a flying triangle on my next oponent and if i get it right this manga made me a better fighter
