I grew up in a poor coal mining town in WV and I loved these beach movies when I was a kid. I finally made it to Ca in the late 70's and learned to surf a little.

remember seeing this movie when first released at a theater in Hollywood, Fl. My mom took me & my brothers. It was a huge crowd because Annette made a personal appearance with a little speech in front of the theater.Such simpler times.

True story told by Annette:

This scene was really filmed in February 1963. Annette said that they were driving to the beach in a convertible during what was actually one of California's coldest winters. She said she and Frankie were actually freezing their asses off LOL LOL LOL
