Although every good tennis player has to unlearn stepping into the volleys near the kitchen. Footfaults galore in the video. I have that problem as well. Many hours spent turning the split step and offside step to the volley into muscle memory is the culprit.

I can relate I played tennis in high school. I played pickleball my first time two weeks ago and I beat every one there. It took me about 30 mins to get the hang of the low bounce and te shorter racket but by the end of the session I played 3 guys 1 vs 1 and beat them all. They’re not good as these guys in the videos but they weren’t beginners either. A lot of the skills in tennis translates over to pickleball especially tennis volleying

Those last two shots are called momentum, and they technically lost the point as good as they looked. You can’t even touch the kitchen after making contact if you value it in the air.

It’s true. If you think about it, tennis players are trying to maximize spin and power with racquets that are more than double in swing weight. We naturally will have better top-spin shots. But it doesn’t mean shit if we don’t develop that dink game from 5.0 and up. :/

Too true. Played in a pickleball tournament at work against regulars and was runner up singles and won the doubles tourney. (First time ever playing and used a crap wooden paddle)

This is true except I played with very high level PB players recently (a few were former tennis players) and they can handle a lot of the hard shots
