I adopted a cat from a shelter that had fip and we started the treatment (she LOVED churus) but sadly we only got to day Seven before she passed away. She was only five months old and we had only had her for 3. She was such a sweet little kitty and I miss her so much ❤❤❤

my kitty passed of wet FIP recently and looking back she definitely had a bloated abdomen. i just thought she was gaining weight. i feel horrible because i didn’t know, she started coughing around 4am when it became fatal and was dead by 11am. i miss her so bad i wish i could’ve helped her sooner.

My cat couldn’t stand 24 hours with the virus. It literally destroyed her immunity bringing the WBC count to 0 on her last report.

The tragic thing is that in Sweden healthcare of FIP is 60-80 thousand kroner and few veterinarians offer the treatment. My sister's four-year-old cat is currently undergoing treatment with hopefully positive results.

I had a cat that a had fip and we used a outside source to get him shots to cure it, we spent so much money and first go around it failed but our person that was supplying us gave us a donation of a few more shots and it worked

There is a treatment. We are doing it right now. Its not cheap (nothing that actually works typically is), but it works. Chin up everyone

It really should be more known because FIP is very dangerous most importantly, here in the Balkans and in Europe mostly in Cyprus, about 35, 000 cats have die Unfortunately, my cat was a victim to this. He was only three years old but it’s really important because there’s also no treatment.

My 14 years old baby started having a bloated stomach and I am so scared, I am so scared, rn I don’t have the money for the vet and the only place In my city that is willing to treat cat for a low cost isn’t returning my calls, I really feel like a bad cat mom I am so afraid to lose my baby girl because I can’t help her or find a vet, I hate that rn I can’t do anything ..
I’m terrified she might have FIP.

my kitten, (9 months) just got FIP he is considered lucky because he has had multiple sezuires and my parents had to take him to san diego at 1am to give him a shot at a ladys home, he is fine now and is recovering well❤

I just lost a 1yr old kitty to FIP. At first the vet thought it was parasites and stress causing an upper reparatory infection. I had Pyrantel at home which I had already given and the vet gave me meds and Bean recovered only to relapse a month later. He had still lost weight but the vet thought it might be tape worms because Pyrantel doesn't get them all. So we used Drontal and got more antibiotics. At first I was thinking about asking for bloodwork but what the vet said made so much sense. He got better for a bit then relapsed again and by the time we got blood work he was severely anemic. A transfusion and hospital stay would have been thousands and the antiviral treatment thousands more. I wish I had gotten the bloodwork because he may have been strong enough for the antivirals then. It would have been expensive but he would have had a much better chance.

If you think it's a simple thing and your cat doesn't get better or relapses get bloodwork. There are tell-tale signs of fip. It's not proof, but if you have enough of them it's 90% positive IMO.

Just lot a cat to FIP. Had the wet version, and didn't know there was bloating due to his size. Loved him a lot.

We brought our cat to the vet because he wasn’t eating, they said he had wet (FIP) his stomach area looked all bloated, they said the used a needle & filled about 2/3 syringes of liquid from his stomach. He is walking like an old man 2. We only have had Colby for 5 mths, know talking about the possibility of putting him down,

Our adopted cat got neutered Nov2023, he was an active cat 1yr 4mos kitten. After neuter, he became sad and lost appetite…we thought because he lost his dignity or something since he was a very proud kitten and kind of bossy. Then we noted that his bloated belly and got to know the disease of fip. Not sure if it was fip so we rushed him to cat’s hospital. Got blood chem etc but no findings yet…thursday dec14 he was confined but we lost him Saturday Dec16, 2023. We are devastated and my partner sort of blaming me for having him neutered coz that’s where it started all…is neutering even related to fip?😢

My cat isnt pooping for days but can urinate. He also eats but i dont see him drink water. His tummy is getting a lil bloated too. His cbc shows infection i dont have anymore money for his tests. Is it a symptom of fip?

I have a 3 months old kitten, it's been two weeks that her belly got bigger and firm. Today I took her for radiology pictures and there was a big white area in her belly. She eats a lot and didn't lose appetite, drinks more and poops well.
