The Gloria (Glory to God) is an ancient hymn of praise that glorifies the greatness of God in his work of Creation, Redemption, and Sanctification. The first phrases are taken from Luke 2:14​, which is the hymn of the angels on Christmas night when Christ the Savior was born. The Gloria is sung on Sundays outside Advent and Lent and all Solemnities and Feasts.
